Mathematics Day Celebration

Pratap Public School,Jarnailly Colony observed National Mathematics Day on 22nd December 2021 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shri Srinivasa Ramanujan, the great mathematical genius who made exemplary contribution in the field of Mathematics.

The day was celebrated with an objective of creating awareness about the immense contribution of Shri Srinivasa Ramanujan and helpin creating students’ interest in Mathematics.

The event also aimed at making the students realize the practical and daily life applications of Mathematics.

Backed by a rigorous planning, mathematics department conducted a fun-filled celebration that brought forth maximum participation from students.The programme began with an informative speech  highlighting  the importance of mathematics in the modern world and its applications in the field of artificial intelligence.The real fun began with the Number Game as the excitement was at its peak while the students and teachers alike taxed their mental faculties to get to the solutions. The fun didn’t end there as it was followed by Angle Yoga, and Relay Race wherein the students exhibited unparalleled excitement and actively participated in the activities.

Hon’ble Director Principal Ma’am Ms. Poonam Navet also graced the occasion. Remembering the immense contribution of  the renowned mathematician Shri Srinivasa Ramanujan, Ma’am referred to an incident that launched the  “Hardy-Ramanujan number,” or “taxi-cab number”, a mathematical oddity that had mathematicians fascinated to this day. 

She alsoapplauded the students for enthusiastically participating in such activities and encouraged them to learn the techniques to apply the knowledge of the subject in a variety of contexts.
