PPS Observed Social Service Week

EMPATHY IS THE ONLY MEDICINE THE WORLD NEEDS.

      -JUDITH ORLOFF

As a part of Social Service Week, Pratapians visited the Sector-32 Slum in Karnal on 1st December 2021. The objective of the visit was to interact with the under privileged children, understand their life and educate them about some simple healthy habits in life.   This noble campaign, organised by Narmada House, was flagged off by the honourable Director-Principal ma’am Poonam Navet.

To sensitize these children about the significance of cleanliness, class IX students presented a Nukkad Natak-‘Swachhta ke Deep Jalao, Pryavaran ko Swastha Banao’. Besides interacting with the slum children Narmada House students conducted various activities to bring cheer on their faces. The students not only shared space with the underprivileged but also distributed snacks, fruits and woollen clothes.

The campaign proved to be quite a novel experience for both the students and the slum dwellers. While it was eye opener for the students which sensitized them about the harsh realities of life in a slum and help develop empathy towards the underprivileged, for the slum dwellers is was a welcome change from the miserable life.  This visit made Pratapians learn that ‘One should be happy with what one has’.

  • My daughter really performed well in her presentation on Healthy vs Junk food. All credit goes to her mentors. I really appreciate the initiative taken by the school for the improvement of students' overall development. I wish the teachers and the PPS society a very good luck for their future endeavors.
