Gala Celebrations

Pratap Public School Jarnailly Colony Karnal celebrated the festival of lights - Deepawali  on 29th October, 2021 to reiterate the historical significance of the festival and incorporate the customs, traditions and values within the ethos of the school's cultural climate.

The festive vibes were on zenith as  the school also observed National Unity Day and Haryana Day along with Deepawali. The environs of the school were amped up with vibrant diyas, candles, rangolis and posters made by enthusiastic students.

The Celebrations commenced with the welcome of the esteemed members of the management by the Director-Principal Ma'am Poonam Navet.

Ashmita from IX D enlightened the audience with her speech on the significance and history of Haryana Day. She spoke at length about the  progress of Haryana in last few decades.

A mellifluous rendition by school choir  brought out the essence of the festival.

An insightful talk underlining the true spirit of festivals and preserving the age-old customs  delivered by Samdisha of IX D compelled the audience to reflect on how Diwali is not only about receiving gifts but also about sharing the blessings with the less fortunate ones.

A musical dance drama  unfolding the mythological tale of Diwali was a befitting finale to the high-spirited celebrations. Dressed up as various characters from the epic Ramayana, the students brought the myth to life flawlessly thereby leaving an indelible impact on the audience.

The Director-Principal Ma'am Poonam Navet addressed the students and wished everyone a happy and safe diwali.

She appealed the young minds to resolve to become a lamp of hope and prosperity for the poor, destitute and needy people of the society by sharing our happiness just as a lamp lightens many lamps by sharing its light.

She further emphasized that Diwali is also a festival of cleanliness, so let us honour mother-nature by celebrating pollution-free, environment friendly and clean Diwali.

As the celebrations came to an end with a formal vote of thanks, the students left for a festive break with a heart full of joy and vigour but a cautious and vigilant brain.
