Guest Lecture: Joy of Sustainability

Pratap Public School Jarnailly Colony, Karnal organized an online workshop on the occasion of World Environment Day, on Saturday, 5th June, 2021. The session was conducted by Dr. Sudipti Arora, Research Scientist & Assistant Director at Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology, Jaipur. The Session covered insights on Sustainable development goals,

and inspired students to make individual and collective efforts to fulfil Sustainable development goals and save the environment. The world today is suffering with several environmental problems from water scarcity to air pollution, global warming, climate change and the entire world is impacted due to COVDI19. At such times, these sessions are really helpful to inspire young students to think about conservation of environment. Dr. Sudipti explained the environmental problems and gave very practical & useful solutions to the students, explained 10R’s- Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recreate, Repot, Rethink, Remember, Repair and Restore to adopt for a sustainable lifestyle, talking about zero waste and sustainability. She mentioned the Joy of sustainability is unique, and one can feel extreme happiness by practicing sustainability in their lifestyle. Students were highly motivated and they promised to adopt sustainability in their lifestyle, by practices such as composting your own kitchen waste, reusing, reducing and recycling things. The session was very successful and a unanimous call for such interactive guest lectures in the future was put forward by every member of the enthralled audience.
