Fond memories of Dr. R. S. Bhatia (1924-2011), a renowned educationist, legendary academician, passionate environmentalist, and a committed philanthropist once again moistened the eyes of those who were lucky to feel the warmth of his love and compassion.

This day, 7th March 2011, Dr. Bhatia left us for his heavenly abode.

This year on “The Remembrance Day”, a prayer meet was organized in the Hall of Fame at Pratap Public School ,Jarnailly Colony, Karnal. Enveloped in an ambience of reverence and nostalgia, the esteemed members of the management Mrs. Deepika Bhatia (Vice-President) and Mr. Sanjay Bhatia (Secretary), Director Principal Mrs. Poonam Navet and members of the staff paid homage and floral tributes to the noble soul. This was followed by mellifluous and soulful renditions of “Bhajans” by Mr. Deepak Parashar  and Mr. Virender. Later, in her tribute to the doyen of the Pratap family Dr. R. S. Bhatia, Mrs. Poonam Navet reminisced about the legend’s life and story, regaling the congregation with anecdotes from the great man’s life. Quoting Dr. Bhatia, Mrs. Poonam Navet, shared the favorite and oft reiterated words of Dr. Bhatia – “Learning by doing”.

Dr. Bhatia’s vision of helping as many and  as much as possible and educating generations of Karnalites is realized through his legacy – the inimitable Pratap Public School. The day was a fitting tribute to the illustrious man, the exalted Dr. R. S Bhatia.
