MAHATMA GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATIONS

“Ahimsa must express itself through the acts of selfless service of the masses”.        M.K.Gandhi

To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of ‘Father of the Nation', Pratap Public School organised a special assembly on 2nd of October 2019.

A devotional ambience prevailed as the day started with paying a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi with a song ‘Sabarmati ke Sant’ and ‘Raghupati Raghav Rajaram’ followed by a plethora of activities like Quiz Competition, Talks, singing religious song, etc. Ms. Anuradha apprised the gathering of various facets of Gandhi's life, struggle and courageous deeds, values and ideals upheld by Bapu. The song Shramdaan Krenge ,Kartavya Poora Krenge' motivated everyone to devote some time for personal and public hygiene . Mr Shiv enlightened the students about the havoc being played by plastic and suggested various alternatives for it. An enriching and informative quiz was conducted by Mr. Deepak.

As actions speak louder than words , Pratapians took it as an opportunity for making Karnal a cleaner city and carried out 'Fit India Plogging Run ‘ -a unique combination of picking up litter while jogging , reverberating the need to shun single use plastic . They enthusiastically displayed the slogans like ‘Go Green and Say ‘No’ to Plastic’, ‘Plastic Mukt Ho Desh Hamara’, ‘Avoid Carry Bag, Switch to Carry a Bag’, etc. A swachhata pledge was administered.

The local public appreciated the efforts taken by the school and the drive was a great success.

Hon'ble Director Principal Ms Poonam Navet urged everyone to follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi which are still relevant in the modern world.

The day ended with a proactive thought in mind that cleanliness is next to godliness and service to mankind is the first and foremost step towards reaching it.
