Van Mahotsav Celebration

“Trees are the kindest things we grow”

This has been rightly said as the needs of all the human beings are fulfilled through them. In the wake of their depleting number it has now been globally realized that their conservation is of paramount importance.

PPS has always been confederate in sensitizing its students to the global issues and groom them into enlightened human beings. With this view it celebrated Van Mahotsav on 23rdJuly, 2019 in a grand fashion. The chief guest District Forest Officer, Karnal Mr. Vijender added charm to the celebrations with his hollowed presence. The Hon’ble Joint Secretary Mrs. Poonam Bhatia and respected Director-Principal, Mrs. Poonam Navet also graced the occasion with their benign presence.  The programme began with a formal welcome of the Chief Guest, Joint Secretary and  the Director Principal and saplings were presented to them by the school cabinet which really left them deeply touched. Meaningful messages were conveyed through placards displayed in the school. Planting of saplings by the esteemed guests sensitized the students to take initiatives to resolve a serious issue of depletion of trees. It is heartening to mention that about 200 students of the school were gifted saplings to plant at their places. They all planted them with a resolve to nurture and help them grow into trees.

The students highlighted the need to protect flora through their presentations in the form of a poem, musical rendition and a melody. The Chief Guest respected DFO Karnal encouraged the students to play a vital role in conserving the environment and maintaining the ecological balance. Thereafter a pledge to conserve environment was administered, followed by a formal vote of thanks proposed. The programme was a huge success and culminated with national anthem.

Testimonials

  • My daughter really performed well in her presentation on Healthy vs Junk food. All credit goes to her mentors. I really appreciate the initiative taken by the school for the improvement of students' overall development. I wish the teachers and the PPS society a very good luck for their future endeavors.
