Diwali and UN Day Celebration

_auto_generated_thumb_On the auspicious morning of 27th Oct, 2016, school celebrated Diwali in style with its traditional fervor, jubilation and enthusiasm. The ceremony was interwoven with the mellifluous threads of sensitizing Punjabi-culture soaked dance, brilliantly put together UNO based presentation and ebullient dance performances.

The function was set rolling with a warm welcome extended by our worthy Director-Principal Mrs. Poonam Navet, to the back-bone of our school, the most beloved and respected Mrs. Deepika Bhatia and Mr. Ajay Bhatia and head of junior branch, Mrs. Chhavi Madan.

The celebrations started with the heads, meeting a cheerful and an enthusiastic group of scouts. They presented the dignitaries with their trade-mark stripped orange scarves.

Beautiful and vibrant rangolies and diyas painted painstakingly made by the students, added to the Diwali fervor. The guests were presented with a loving gift of diyas as a symbol of love and happiness, befitting the occasion.

There was a thought provoking speech, on the significance of this festival. An appeal was made to resist the temptation of bursting crackers to ensure a clean, green and healthy environment.

UNO Day celebration was an added attraction of the day. It was no mean task to put up a meticulously prepared presentation, show-casing the various organs and their functions of UNO. It imparted firsthand knowledge to the students about UNO and the vital role it plays in world peace and harmony.

It was followed by an enthralling Inter-House Dance competition. Foot-trapping music with vivacious moves, left the audience asking for more.

It was rightly followed by a power-packed, boisterous bhangra performance by the boys of classes IX and X.

The gala celebrations draw to a close with a thought-provoking speech by our respected Director-Principal ma’am. She highlighted the need of both intrinsic as well as extrinsic cleaning on the occasion of Diwali. She advocated the principles of caring and sharing with the under-privileged, to spread happiness and smiles in their lives too.

The momentous ceremony ended with the rendition of the national anthem. All in all, it was a spectacular show which left everyone  revitalized and rejuvenated and with a smile on their lips.
